Description
After the mysterious disappearance of his grandfather, Niko and his mom travel to his remote home on the Faroe Islands to settle his affairs. With the first step through the doors, Niko suspects there is more to the story than an eccentric old man lost at sea. The next morning Niko searches for clues, discovering his grandfather’s study — wallpapered with schematics, drawings, and research. What could the old man have been up to? Among the papers, on a rusty old nail is a worn compass with a crystal needle.
As Niko reaches for it, he is surrounded by a whirlwind of blue energy that sends him hurtling to Ateya — the compass’s origin — a world of airships, open skies, and floating islands.There, Niko is saved by a small band of pirates: Perl, Tusk, Kafka, and Red who tell Niko about the perilous war that has gripped Ateya for centuries, and the Emperor behind it all. On the run from Emperor Thaine’s aerial forces, Niko and his new friends must navigate the dangerous skies to unravel the mystery that connects him and the compass and find his way back home!
