Dead Men is a Captain Hook origin story about a man trapped out of time for the the entertainment of a vengeful demigod.
James E. Hook was not always a pirate.
In fact, it would be fair to say that he never was, the title was awarded posthumously. James was an ordinary sea captain in the beginning, running a trade expedition to the colonies when his ship capsized in a storm. On the brink of death, he encountered a strange young man, that could speak underwater, inside his head. Whisked away on the promise of immortality, he found himself marooned on a tropical island with a demigod.
That young man was full of promises.
That young man was a liar.
